Digital Printer Wanted at Chalmers

The Service Department is a results unit operating within Chalmers University of Technology, Chalmers Lindholmen, and the IT University. We also provide services for external organizations in our vicinity.

We coordinate, lead, and develop Chalmers' need for service functions so that all operations can focus on their core activities. We are about 115 employees distributed across units such as cleaning, maintenance, technical services, mail, transport and goods reception, service pool, and digital printing.

Job Description

Digital Printing is looking for an engaged and service-oriented printer. Digital Printing performs all forms of printing, copying, and finishing for students and employees at Chalmers. A large part of the operation involves thesis production, including file editing and printing of compendiums. A customer reception is located directly adjacent to the printing house, which is open every day. The work involves customer contact to prepare PDF files for printing and to complete the job from customer contact to final product.

Qualifications

You have experience in digital printing and are familiar with file management of PDF documents. The position requires knowledge of Adobe CS programs (Acrobat, InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator). It is beneficial to be comfortable with the following technical equipment: large format printers, production printers, perfect binders, and folding and stapling machines. You have good knowledge of English, both spoken and written.

We are a small team of 3 colleagues, which makes it especially important that we enjoy working together. We have many customer contacts, and the job therefore requires a service-oriented approach and a very good ability to collaborate. We place great emphasis on personal suitability for this position and are looking for someone who is positive and service-oriented, focused on solutions, and able to assist customers with their needs. You find it easy to collaborate in a team but are also self-driven, take responsibility, and can prioritize your work. You are also meticulous and have administrative skills.

Our production mainly consists of the following products:

• Theses, books, and compendiums
• Posters, brochures, folders, business cards, and exams
• Posters, banners, decals, displays, EXPO fair and signage materials, and roll-ups
• Prepress, digital transfer, file management, original work, and image processing
• Finishing, perfect binding, wire-O binding, folding, lamination, brochure stapling, and cutting
• Templates, graphic profiles

Employment Type

The position is a full-time temporary position, starting immediately until September 15, 2025.
